Many factors go into pricing a pet for grooming. For example, the condition of the coat, frequency
of grooming, behavior of the pet, size of the pet (i.e. larger or smaller than breed standard) and difficulty of the groom (hand scissor bichon vs. clipper cut bichon). All the prices offered are based on the breed standard set forth by the AKC in the 20th edition of The Complete Dog Book.
Since there is no standard for mixed breed or designer dogs we can only quote on what the dog
most closely resembles and what the client is requesting. Each pet is unique and will be priced accordingly.
Definitions of what is included in grooming services:
Full Service Bath includes bathing with high quality shampoos, expressing the anal gland (if needed), full brush out, sanitary trim, pads trimmed and ears cleaned, nails clipped, and a light spritz of our signature scent.
Full Service Grooming includes all the services of the full service bath plus the breed appropriate groom or a custom cut.
Prices vary by breed and service. Please call or email for a quote. Quotes are not a price guarantee.
For some pets the groom is the bath, for example shelties or labs. If you would like something different than a breed standard groom (i.e. a shave down) please tell us during the phone interview so that we can better budget our time and quote you a more accurate price.
Pets that have excessive coat, fleas, ticks, are matted, out of breed standard (over/under sized) or hard to handle will be an additional charge of $5-$15 per item.
Also, if you would like a cocker clip on your cocker spaniel but would like the legs shortened there will be an additional charge. It would be equivalent to shaving the pet down requiring the groomer to go over the entire dog rather than set the pattern. This applies to all pattern type grooms.
